In July 1971, the Utility Stores Corporation was founded in Pakistan in an effort to combat inflation and poverty. Currently, there are utility store operators around the country. Under these, Pakistani residents who are deserving and impoverished can receive special discounts on food items. For this aim, more than 4000 utility stores have been established throughout Pakistan. Pakistan’s newly elected prime minister, Shahbaz Sharif, has announced the establishment of the mobile utility stores unit.

Mobile Utility Stores Roll Out Discounts on Essential Items
The aid package has been increased to a maximum of 5 billion rupees to allow more deserving people to benefit from this program. There will be a special discount on all necessities at Utility Stores Mobile Unit. There will be discounts of 77 rupees per kg for grain and 100 rupees per kg for ghee at certain utility retailers. Furthermore, a 30% reduction has been made to the remaining inventory from other shops.
Mobile Utility Store Eligibility Criteria
The prerequisites for being eligible for savings on products bought from the Utility Stores Mobile Unit are similar to those of other government-supported programs in Pakistan.
- Those with poverty scores below forty benefit from these utilities outlets’ mobile units.
- Shoppers at utility companies’ mobile stores who earn less than 60,000 per month might also profit from doing so.
- Utility stores do not sell mobile units to customers who have traveled abroad or who possess valuable items.
- Only those whose records are already on file with the Utility Store Corporation may make purchases from them.
